Using tricks of perspective and elegant modern architecture, the architects behind the Australia F2 Architecture firm have created a floating luxury rental home that appears to hover above the coast of Southern Australia.

The illusion is spoiled from any other approach than the bridge at the entryway, but the building is still no less appealing. From another angle, it becomes clear that the building is built on a pole that lifts it 40m (or about 130 feet) above the slope below it. Once you've crossed the bridge to the building itself (and provided you aren't afraid of heights), you'll be greeted with a spectacular and commanding view of Fairhaven Beach and the Great Ocean Road below.

The building can be rented for between AUD$440 and 1,220 a night, and it's not kid- or pet-friendly, so it's definitely for those looking for a luxurious getaway for two!
