The Propeller Island City Lodge is a unique hotel with 31 very different rooms. Adventurous guests can check in to a prison cell and even a coffin suite where you can sleep beneath closed lids. The hotel also features an upside down room, where furnishings hang from the ceiling and guests sleep in boxes under the floorboards.

The quirky hotel, in Berlin, was created by German artist Lars Stroschen and is also a large-scale art installation. Its website states the hotel is 'a magnet for creative individuals, those weary of consumption, those who see things differently, philosophers and seekers of perspective and vision'. Prices for the hotel, listed on Unusual Hotels of the World, start from 50.
